How long does business setup in the UAE take?
A Free Zone trade licence can be issued in as little as two hours once your documents are in order. Mainland licensing through the Department of Economic Development typically takes three to five working days. Residence visas add a further seven to ten working days for medical testing, Emirates ID and stamping.
What is the difference between Mainland, Free Zone and Offshore?
A Mainland licence lets you trade anywhere in the UAE and bid for government contracts. A Free Zone licence gives 100% foreign ownership, tax advantages and a fixed visa quota, but trading inside the UAE market needs a local distributor. Offshore gives you a registered UAE entity for holding and international trade with no office and no visas.
How much does it cost to set up a company in the UAE?
Our Free Zone business licence starts at AED 4,888 per year with no visa allocation. A licence with one residence visa is AED 10,800 and two visas is AED 16,200. Mainland and Offshore costs vary by activity and authority, so we quote them after a free consultation. See the business setup packages above.
Do I need to be in the UAE to start the process?
No. Company registration, trade licence issuance and initial approvals can all be completed remotely with attested documents and a power of attorney. You only need to travel to the UAE for the medical fitness test, Emirates ID biometrics and visa stamping.
How much does it cost to start a business in Dubai?
A Dubai free zone licence with no visa typically starts around AED 12,000 to 15,000 a year, and a mainland DED licence usually lands between AED 15,000 and 25,000 once external approvals are counted. Costs move with your activity, visa quota and office requirement, which is why we quote the government fees and our fee separately before you commit. Our Ajman free zone packages start lower, from AED 4,888.
Can a foreigner start a company in Dubai without a local partner?
Yes. Free zone companies have always allowed 100% foreign ownership, and since the 2021 amendments most mainland commercial activities do too, so a local partner is no longer required for the large majority of businesses. A handful of strategic-impact activities still need an Emirati partner or agent, and we confirm where your specific activity sits before you pay anything.
Who qualifies for the UAE Golden Visa?
Property investors, company owners meeting the capital threshold, skilled professionals in approved fields, outstanding students and specialised talents all qualify for a five or ten year renewable residency. We run an eligibility check before you commit to anything.
